Top 5 Concealers {According to You + Me}

If I could only have one make up product for the rest of my life it would be concealer. You’ll probably never see me without it. If I’m doing a quick run to the store, I’ve got concealer on. If I’m taking my kids to the playground, there’s concealer on my face. If I’m going to the gym, I’ve put on concealer (haven’t set foot in a gym in over a year, but you get the point). It’s the first make up product I started using in junior high because sadly I was self conscious about my under eye circles starting at a young age and decades later, that insecurity is still there. Fortunately, there are some really great concealers out there.

Since I’m an avid concealer user with a lot of experience in both every day and TV make up, I’ve got my favorites. I also posted a question on Instagram asking for yours. The Top 5 are a combination of the concealers I can’t live without and the most common responses I received.

Tarte Shape Tape

By far the number one response and also my most used concealer. I’m actually a newer Shape Tape fan. I didn’t start using it until I was influenced (literally every influencer in IG posts about this one) last year, and I don’t know why I waited so long. According to sales numbers, one is sold every 12 seconds. It’s full coverage, but a little goes a long way. It stays on all day and doesn’t seem to settle in my wrinkles. It brightens, smooths and is easy to blend. Can’t recommend it enough.

Maybelline Age Rewind

A favorite drug store concealer that sells for around $10. The sponge makes it easy to apply and does a great job of covering up under eye circles. I always make sure to have it on hand and it’s my go to when I just need to throw on quick concealer without doing full make up.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye

I haven’t tried this one, but it was the response from several people and it looks like it’s a fan favorite. It’ a full coverage waterproof liquid concealer that comes in 48 shades. It’s supposed to provide coverage up to 24 hours for those of you staying out all night. Definitely looks like a good one if you’re wanting full coverage or on camera make up.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

This is a top selling concealer that has thousands of 4.5 star reviews. I received multiple responses about it, but have yet to try. According to its description, it’s enriched with “hydrating, multi-action skin care benefits plus light-diffusing technology.” It can be used for concealing, highlighting and contouring while covering fine lines and wrinkles.

MAC Pro Longwear

This was the concealer I used every day when I worked in TV news and I still reach for it when I’m doing on camera work. It’s called “Pro Longwear” for a reason because it’s full coverage and lasts all day. I wouldn’t even have to touch it up after a 8 hour work day on camera. It was a favorite for several of my fellow newsies too. The liquid formula doesn’t feel heavy, but does a great job concealing and brightening.
